Committee Work and Updates

What the AI Committee is working on, and the updates it posts to the American University of Antigua College of Medicine (AUACOM) community. The projects list below is maintained by the committee chair.

Current Projects

AI Responsible Use Policy Revision Under Committee Review : A revised edition of the university's AI Responsible Use Policy is in the committee's review process, updating the policy for newer technologies and uses. The current approved policy remains in force and published on this site until ratification. (updated June 2026)

The AUA AI Hub Live : This site is the community's reference point for AI at AUACOM. It was opened to faculty and students on July 27, 2026, after internal testing with committee members. A redesign on September 28, 2026 rearranged its navigation and pages around everyday tasks, and in October short narrated films were added to the seven pathway modules and three hands-on guides. News refreshes several times a day, a highlights digest publishes every Friday, and community feedback continues to shape what it covers. (updated October 2026)

Tool Review Process Pending Ratification : The rubric behind committee tool reviews is published for transparency and awaits ratification. In July 2026 the directory moved to statuses that state the institution's actual relationship with each tool, with committee review available on request through the published process. (updated July 2026)

Responsible AI Use Training Under Consideration : The AI literacy pathway is live on this site and serves the policy's commitment to training resources; whether to designate it as formal responsible-use training is under committee consideration. (updated June 2026)
